LINCOLN ST MOUNDS need follow. Suggested that Jack
would speak to Dale Gaasland.
D A C COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
John spoke of it being the time of year for new
or re-appointments to be made. It would be desirable
for j to come on and 3 to go off each year. Elaine
Adler has expressed a wish to resign, due to her
work schedule. Her contributions will be greatly
missed. Don Olson felt that his attendance rate
would make him more useful in an associate capacity.
Bob Bradley finds he will be in France most of
the fall. He, too, would like to act ass an associate.
They will come to meetings as they can, be involved
in sub-committees, and receive the minutes . They
are such resources, we hope they will stay very
involved. (Editor's note? )
Rick has submitted a resumes, Kerry Brandin has
expressed interest, and John Vinton has worked
hard in the Guidelines development. The composition
of the DAC was discussed. Landscape architects
Tom Ryan and his wife were mentioned. John will
talk with Jack.
LIGHTING Don Olson produced a remarkable map graphically
illustrating lighting in the Center. The Town
lighting committee will soon be named. There is
still a moratorium on replacements Tom spoke of
private security lights and the zoning by-law to
along with the public guidance.
Later in the meeting it was decided that lighting
was so complicated that we could not expect David
Dixon to explore it within their contract. We felt
the drawings should not be included for lights .
DAVID DIXON'S WORKING DRAFT
We had received this on the evening of Sept. 11.
Parking lots were discussed. Municipal lots don't
conform to zoning ordnance. Loss of slces due to
planting. How many? School Administration Building
driveway could be closed. Definiton of Russell
Square would be useful. Albert suggested small
sketches .

Waltham and Muzzey Streets had been omitted. The
alley between the library and the Spectrum Music building
is a gateway also. The sketches at the end are a
little confusing. Is Russell Square really our •4th
priority?
It{ was •decided that_we would each submit butt comments
in writing to John. He and the steering committee will
review and pass on useful comments to David Dixon
John needs there by September 2B.
NATIONAL PARK
John had been in communication with people interested
in the impact of the Park. Do we wish them to be more
involved in Lexington? The issue of tour buses arises.
This is an unofficial committee which we could join
and make suggestions.
ADOPT A SPACE COMMITTEE will meet Sept. 13. Tom put forth
the idea of "linkage" for islands or alleys .
