HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-11-12-HATSII-min.pdf HATS/HATS II Meeting of November 12, 1987 Board of Selectmen Meeting Room, Lexington The meeting was called to order by Jack Eddison at 7 40 P M He explained the background leading to the current meeting i e. Senator Carol Amick's calling the four towns group together to discuss Hanscom problems, in July and again in October Based on what &ppeared to be general agreement reached at the second Amick meeting, the HATS organization should be reorganized as a new Committee with expanded responsibility, Jack Eddison presented a proposed redraft of the HATS Memorandum of Agreement between the four towns It was decided that the revised memorandum as amended should be submitted for approval to the Selectmen of each town, and signed by them. The group decided that the proposed position on the Committee of the Conservation Commission and HFAC representatives would be assigned to other at-large designees Sect II part c is to include the Air Force and other federal and state agencies The group agreed to insert "to press for roadway improvement projects or studies which habe been mutually agreed upon" There should be added a paragraph regarding compliance with the open meeting law Questions were raised regarding how non-voting members can get on the mailing list The group decided the name of the Committee should be the Hanscom Area Towns Committee to be called HATS II in the interest of continuity The selectmen representative will the designated contact person for each town. The intent of the first task of the committee was discussed Two people will go to MassPort to look at maps of the parcels that are currently under question. We will ask Carol Amick to get MassPort to designate a representative to the group and to review what it proposes as the areas to be discussed The next meeting will be held Thursday, December 10 at 7 30 p.m. , Lexington Town Hall.
