Membership–Paul Jenkins, representing financial interests will be replaced by a liaison from Capital Expenditures 2. Auction of Parcel 6—The Committee has concerns about any increased traffic on Walnut St. and the fate of the 19th century house at 61 Walnut St. These concerns aside, the Committee supports the recommendation of the Planning Board, that Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) be asked to restrict the deed to insure that Lexington s RO Zoning apply and future developments conform to the existing zoning options. DCAM has agreed to this condition. 3. Parcel 1—Stew Kennedy, Jeanne and Glenn met July 19 with Reps. Jay Kaufman and Tom Stanley and Robert Cohen and Peter Nordstrom of DCAM to explore options for Parcel 1 Under Chapter 548, DCAM is allowed expedited sale of state property and could auction Parcel 1 within the year. Lexington expressed concern that there has not been a planning process for the entire Middlesex Hospital tract, as there had been for MetState. Parcels are being auctioned and developed without regard to impact on the Trapelo Rd. corridor. Lexington requested time to engage in a planning process for Parcel 1 with the intention of advancing a plan acceptable to the community, identifying and securing funds to purchase the tract. To conduct this planning effort, funding will be required. A Memorandum of Understanding will be developed with Lexington, Waltham, the legislative delegation and DCAM to define the process i.e. -Expansion of the Lexington Task Force to include a Waltham representative and a representative of the Western Greenway After meeting with Mayor McCarthy of Waltham and Tom Stanley, I recommend that the Middlesex Re-Use Committee include 9 Lexington representatives, 3 Waltham and 1 representative from the Western Greenway. The 9 Lexington members on the Re Use Committee would include Selectman (1), Planning (1), Conservation/Lazzd Aquistion (2), Neighborhood(2), Recreation (1) and Housing(2). I will bring names to the Selectmen s meeting Aug. 23 to confirm membership, -Agreement by DCAM and the legislative delegation to attempt to secure funds for the planning process -Development of a community based process to identify land uses acceptable to the community -Assurance by DCAM that no efforts to sell Parcel 1 will be initiated until Lexington and Waltham have completed the planning effort and had sufficient opportunity to secure funding. 4 The Conservation Commission will endeavor to update the Open Space and Recreation Plan to allow Lexington become eligible for Self Help Funding 5 Next Meeting—September 7, 5 pm to review draft MOU By email to Kennedy,Stew Miller,Joyce Derby,Marshall Garber, Glenn Colman,Steve Simmons, Karen Burnell, George Waters-Ekanem,Michelle Shaw, Sandy Hardcopy to Hyland, Chuck Frick, Jere Garber,Gil
