September 21, 2004
PRESENT Richard Pagett,Deborah Brown, George Burnell, Tony Close, Dan Fenn,Bill
Kennedy Hank Manz, Evelyn Silber and Lori Manning, Clerk.
The meeting began with further debate on whether or not candidates for the Interim
Manager's Position should be restricted from applying for the Regular Town Manager
position. A majority of the committee agreed that the person hired as the Interim Town
Manager should not be allowed to pursue the Regular Manager position. They felt that
the interim position would be difficult enough without the additional distraction of
`auditioning for the Regular position. The committee also feels the Town will be served
better by someone who knows they are here for a specific amount of time.
The committee will unanimously recommend to the Board of Selectmen that candidates
for the Interim Town Manager position not be considered for the Regular Town Manager
position.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the committee voted by roll call vote Mr. Close,
Mr. Fenn, Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Manz, Mr. Pagett to enter into executive session for the
purpose of discussing individual candidates.
Four new resume packages were distributed to the committee.
The committee reviewed the six resumes they had received over the weekend, and
decided to keep three for further consideration, two would not be interviewed and the one
remaining is a town employee who Mr. Pagett and Mr. Kennedy will schedule a meeting
with.
After reviewing the new set of resumes the committee decided to keep one for further
consideration.
The committee agreed that each member submit by e-mail to Mr. Pagett one or two
suggestions of questions to be asked during the interview
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted by roll call, to adjourn the meeting at
9:00 p.m.
