HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-04-14-FHHR-min.pdf Town of Lexington,Massachusetts Meeting of the Fair Housing and Human Relations Committee April 14,2004 A regular meeting of the Fair Housing and Human Relations Committee ("FH&HR") of the Town of Lexington,Massachusetts ("Lexington' or `Town') was scheduled for April 14, 2004 in Room 111 of Lexington Town Hall on Massachusetts Avenue,Lexington, Massachusetts. In attendance were FH&HR members Chang-Sheng Ting, Kellie Barnette,Tom Montanan,Jean Hibino, and Harriet Cohen. Michael Novack was present.FH&HR member Michelle Waters-Ekanem and Bill Kennedy the Selectman representative, were unable to attend. Mr. Montanan presided and Ms. Cohen kept minutes of the meeting. A quorum was present and the meeting was convened at 7:06 p.m. I. Review and Annrove Minutes of the March 10 meeting The minutes from the March 10, 2003 meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved. II. LexFest—Jean Hibino LexFest will most likely be held on Oct. 2,probably at the Town s Visitor Center and not at the National Heritage Museum. III. Selectman Liaison Assignments Mr. Montanan circulated the list of Selectman Liaison Assignments. IV Franklin School Many of the apartments are becoming market rate. This means a major rent hike for many of the tenants. Marshall Derby of LexHab may intercede with the management of the Franklin School apartments to see if it would be possible to maintain the current rents for at least some of the current tenants. V Incident Response Team There was an incident response team meeting on Friday April 9 2004 Mr. Montanan had planned to attend the meeting but was unexpectedly unavailable.More information will be available at the next FH&HR meeting. VI. Lexington Housing Partnership Ms. Cohen had distributed the minutes of the last LHP meeting. There has been no news since that meeting. VII. No Place for Hate Ms. Hibino attended the last No Place for Hate meeting. She discussed the inquiries of Selectperson Dawn McKenna. VIII. Next Meeting The next meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2004. The meeting following that is June 9 The meeting was adjourned at 7.42 pm.
