IL Announcements from Council members • Thank you to outgoing members this year: Polly Kienle (parent representative), Elise Santiago (Class of 2017 student member), Katherine Manning (staff member), Walter Richardson (staff member), Laura Lasa (Principal, co -Chair). Welcome to new members: Ed Li (parent representative), Sheera Knecht (staff member, started in January). • Sophomore cruise went well on June 10 — 340 students and 20 chaperones attended. • Senior Prom on June 1 went well — about 580 students and 25 to 30 chaperones attended the event. The senior prom is getting too large to hold in most of the Boston area hotels. This will be a consideration in choosing a location in the future. • All Night Graduation Party on June 4 was awesome — Over 90% of the senior class attended (about 50 students were not present). Many thanks to the organizers and volunteers. • The LHS graduation at Tsongas Arena on June 4 as also excellent. The speakers were moving and the ceremony was efficient without an outside speaker. • New Final exam schedule starts on Wednesday. Will look at feedback from this year to decide the schedule for next year. Attendance is being tracked but the N policy is not in effect during final exam dates. Will reconsider schedule if excessive absences occur for afternoon classes. Class time will be used for returning assessments to students, fun activities, presentations and returning textbooks. III. Final draft of the School Improvement Plan 2017-2018 • Will be presented to School Committee on June 20 (postponed from June 6). • Reviewed the final draft with new format. Much clearer to understand on-going goals for the school and students. IV.
