Associate Commissioner Absent: Richard Neumeier. th Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy called the June 6, 2024 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at 6:06pm. CONTINUED HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 13 Depot Square, 1661 Massachusetts Avenue, 1761 Massachusetts Avenue, 1875 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior alterations (Riding Through History) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents Riding Through History VC Mockup: dated May 14, 2024 Events Photos at the Visitors Center: dated June 6, 2024 The applicant explained the updated proposed riding through history plans (a mock-up of placement of a horse on the patio) at 1875 Massachusetts Avenue. The Commission felt this application was appropriate. Robert Adams has been served as the liaison for this application. No Public Comments. Paul O’Shaughnessy made motion to amend the April resolution of the Commission to accommodate placement of this horse in front of the Visitor Center as depicted in the graphic that we have been provided on the patio, to the left of the door as being viewed the building. Historic Districts Commission 1 / 3 FORMAL HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 1403 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior alterations (Riding Through History) in the Munroe Tavern Historic District Documents Full plan set of proposed alteration: dated April 29, 2024 Photographs of entire place of each building elevation visible from the public way: dated April 29, 2024 Material List: dated April 29, 2024 Work Scope Narrative: dated April 29, 2024 Owner Authorization Letter: dated April 29, 2024 Legal Advertisement Authorization Form: dated April 29, 2024 Photoshop – horse in front of Munroe Tavern 1403 Mass Ave: dated May 6, 2024 The applicant explained the proposed riding through history plans in front of Munroe Tavern at 1403 Massachusetts Avenue. The Commission felt this application was appropriate. No Public Comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 1403 Massachusetts Avenue. Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 1733 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior alterations (Front Façade Alteration) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents None This application will continue to July HDC meeting as per applicant’s request. Dan Hisel has been served as the liaison for this application. Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 2 Percy Road (formerly 4 Percy Road), exterior alterations (Exterior colors and new windows) in the Munroe Tavern Historic District Documents ADM Ultimate Wood Double Hung: dated May 28, 2024 2 Percy Road_Exterior House Color Options A-b_05-28-24: DATED May 28, 2024 Historic Districts Commission 2 / 3 The architect explained the proposed windows replacement and exterior house color plans for the structure at 2 Percy Road. The Commission felt this application was appropriate as presented with the choice of blue for the window details, and the one proviso that there will be an agreement between Mr. Colin and Lee Noel Chase that it’s acceptable and then a Certificate of Appropriateness will be issued. Lee Noel Chase will serve as the liaison for this application. No public comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 2 Percy Road (formerly 4 Percy Road) as presented with the choice of blue for the window details, and the one proviso that there will be an agreement between Mr. Colin and Lee Noel Chase that it’s acceptable. Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 4 Percy Road, exterior alterations (New Construction) in the Munroe Tavern Historic District Documents 4 Percy_Front Façade Schemetic Design Options_05_29_24 HDC: dated May 29, 2024 The architect explained the updated proposed new construction plans for 4 Percy Road. The Commission agreed to continue this application to July HDC meeting. Bob Adams and Dan Hisel will continue to serve as the consultant and liaison for this application. No Public Comments. ACTION ITEMS nd Consideration and vote on Meeting Minutes of the meeting held on May 2, 2024: The Commission nd made a motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held on May 2, 2024 as written.
