Welcome to Gail Wagner, Transportation Coordinator. Although not starting the job until next Monday, May 21, 2001, Gail agreed to attend and participate in this meeting. She was welcomed warmly by the Committee members. 2. Getting Acquainted Discussion. Each person present told Gail a bit about their background, the time they have been in Lexington, and what their particular interests were with respect to TAC. 3. Current Status of LEXPRESS. Pauline briefed the Committee on the current status of LEXPRESS ridership and budget. There was an extended discussion of the need for a sustained marketing effort, and agreement on making marketing a subject to address at each TAC meeting. Letters from two community residents, Barbara Nowak and Dr. Kornreich, were turned over to Gail to follow up on, as was a request from Youville Place for a coordination meeting with LEXPRESS. 4 Status of Other Transportation Services Office Activities. Brief discussions were held concerning other duties of the Transportation Coordinator and agreement that each needed continuing future attention. These duties included contact with the 128 Business Council and the South Lexington Transportation Task Force; coordination with the Waltham Citibus,the Burlington Bee Line, and the Bedford BLT,attendance at the monthly Joint Regional Transportation Committee(JRTC)meetings;possible attendance at some MAGIC meetings; and in coordination with Joe Marino continuing effort to create a Hartwell Avenue Transportation Management Association(TMA). Chair Car service, transportation demand management duties,the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee, and the Lexington parking program were also briefly touched upon as as matters requiring continuing attention. 5. Minutes of September 13,2000 Meeting. They were approved. 6. Other Business. Bill Mix reminded the Committee that TAC should work with and encourage the Museum of Our National Heritage and others to promote a mini-bus service for tourists, particularly during the summer months. It was agreed that a letter should be sent by TAC to Rick White and Bill Hadley commending Pauline Burke for her excellent handling of LEXPRESS matters during the extended transition period between Coordinators. 7 Next Meeting. It will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2001
