Meeting Minutes

1 LEXPRESS Ridership FY 01. Ridership down 3.9%while revenues up 31.6%.
Passes are the largest source of revenue indicating a substantial core of LEXPRESS
riders.A FY 01 pass report was requested to look at this growth area.
2. Requests. Route modification was the center of discussion due to specific requests.
As policy routes are not adjusted to accommodate individual riders. Routes are
approved by the Selectman.
3 Transportation Demand Management. Specific plans are on file for two sites; 16
Hayden and 45 Hayden. A contribution of$4,000 per site to LEXPRESS has not
been received for FY 01 Letters to these properties will be sent.
4. Hartwell Avenue Traffic Management Association.Collaboration with the 128
Council should proceed. Hartwell TMA finds of$10,000 are available for
traffic mitigation efforts.
5. Database. Bill Levinson explained the Excel application he researched to better
analyze LEXPRESS data and is available to the staff for clarifications.
6. Transit Guide,2002. DeWolffe Realty was approached and is considering corporate
funding of$3,000 for sole sponsorship of the guide. Rick White will be asked if
open solicitation of ads is necessary to comply with town policy It was established
that the format for the last two guides be maintained with advertising limited to the
side columns of the informational side. Changes are costly especially to the map.
Review of the existing map and suggestions for changes were requested.
7 Minutes of June 20,2001 meeting were approved.
8. Other Business. ED Ganshirt noted that the MBTA Saturday schedule has reduced
routes.He questioned if the Selectmen were notified and raised the need to clarify
whom is the Selectmen liaison.Cathy Abbot will be contacted.
