Meeting Minutes

1. Nancy Kolb presented potential changes to LEXPRESS Route 5 including eliminating
the loop through Locke Village and relocating the stop at Burlington Mall. TAC members
discussed the pros and cons of the change including the original 'A mile walking distance
that was a criteria for service design.If any changes are made,they will need to be
greatly publicized.Posting signs in mall,handing out flyers on the bus and publishing the
change in the Minuteman were some suggestions made.Before any change can be made
it needs to be reviewed by the Burlington Mall and Board of Selectmen.Locke Village
residents will be informed of any change by mail with an invitation to the Selectmen's
meeting if they would like to discuss the change.
2. Transit guide development was discussed.TAC members noted that the map text should
be short bullets,not running text.An advertiser for the guide has not been finalized.
3. Birthday Party celebration needs were discussed.Committee members volunteered for
various responsibilities including:newspaper articles in the Minuteman and Northwest
Weekly(Sara Arnold&Don Graham);fare reduction for the birthday week(Nancy
Kolb);Candy for riders(Ben Turk&Bill Mix);and a Birthday Cake Celebration(Alicia
Keigwin&Sally Castleman).Rebecca Rogers is available to assist each group.
Newspaper articles for the birthday week may feature drivers,riders,fare reduction,and
vehicles.
4. Minutes of the July 14 meeting were approved,with corrections.
