I. Ongoing marketing efforts were discussed.Nancy Kolb thanked TAC members for their
contributions to the birthday party celebration.Interviewing the LEXPRESS drivers for a
newspaper article should still be done as a marketing piece.Nancy Kolb also mentioned
the need to go back to the marketing plan and pursue items on it.
2. A draft of the Transit Guide was presented.Nancy Kolb has not sold the ad,but has held
off production with potential advertisers suggested by others. TAC members suggested to
pursue the insert of a pass application into the Transit Guide.Nancy Kolb to seek price
and create materials.B.Eddison suggested that adding `LEXPRESS is ADA compliant'
to the Transit Guide.Web page production will use the material prepared for the Transit
Guide.
3. Other suggested marketing efforts to be pursued by Nancy Kolb include: developing and
purchasing ads in school newsletters and the High School Musket;and holding an event
for seniors targeting the senior villages.The possibility of registering,copyrighting,and
trademarking the LEXPRESS logo were also discussed.
4. Revised ridership statistics were presented.Ridership was revised based on cash in the
farebox.Ridership was shown to increase 12 percent and total revenue I1 percent
between FY98 and FY99 In the first three months of FY2000,revenue is down by about
$7,000.Nancy Kolb will look into the split between fares,tickets and passes of this
decrease.
5. Draft budget for LEXPRESS was presented for FY01. The numbers are based on the
analysis previously completed and provided to the Selectmen upon making the decision
on the LEXPRESS Service RFP The draft budget numbers call for approximately
$210,000 to come from the tax levy and parking fees.It is expected that LEXPRESS will
appear on the override necessary to balance the FY01 budget.Other funding possibilities
were discussed including increasing the MBTA contribution. TAC members agreed that
Nancy Kolb should pursue this effort with the Transportation Coordinators from other
towns.
6. Nancy Kolb reported on a meeting with the Enablement Committee,the Town's ADA
resource. Seniors at Greeley Village are having difficulty getting on and off the bus.
Seniors were reminded that the bus had a lift and they could ask for it to be used.The
possibility of construction raised platforms for the bus to pull up to will also be looked
into by the Transportation Services Office.
7 Meeting minutes were not approved since there was not a quorum present.
