Minutes of the February 11, 1998 Meeting were approved. 2. George Woodbury the Director of the Department of Public Works was introduced. Nancy Kolb updated TAC members on activities concerning the Hartwell Avenue TMA. Nancy had a meeting with Caroline Conner of the 128 Business Council on how to proceed.It was determined that Nancy should introduce herself to potential members over the phone and solicit their input on the status/need for the TMA.It was noted that the last TMA meeting was over 1 '/2 years ago and many of the players may have changed.There are also some new opportunities with permits for redevelopment requiring TMA participation. The Lexington Concord Trolley service was discussed at a meeting between Lou Sideris of the Minute Man National Historic Park,Barbara Lucas,and Nancy Kolb. There are several issues that need to be resolved before the Trolley becomes a reality the first and foremost,finding.It was determined that the most appropriate way to solicit funding for this activity was for Nancy accompanied by a member of the TAC,would discuss the project with the Lexington and Concord Chambers of Commerce.Nancy suggested that she would contact Bill Mix since he had expressed an interest in the Trolley and is a Chamber member. 3. Lexpress ridership was discussed and numbers and figures were presented. This led directly to a discussion of marketing.Don Graham had prepared a draft marketing white paper suggesting 4 steps to creating a marketing plan:marketing analysis,promotion, volunteer support service,financial co-sponsorship.Long term suggestions included utilizing a graduate student or local talent to assist/complete some of these steps; however,the group also felt the need to continue expeditiously TAC members began considering the market and promotions that could be undertaken.Notes that were taken during this portion of the meeting are attached in the(loosely-titled)Draft Marketing Plan. Some members volunteered to begin looking at specific promotions and will report on their progress at the next meeting. 4 Comments were discussed and provided to Nancy Kolb by TAC members on the CNG Bus RFP Comments will be incorporated into the final RFP document. 5. A question was raised regarding the status of the Depot Square project.Nancy will check into this and report back to the Committee. 6. Next meeting: Wednesday March 25, 1998,7:30 PM,Room 111.
