1. An update was given on CNG bus procurement.Request for additional funding has been
determined by the CMAQ Consultation Committee to be appropriate on July 10.
2. A single response was received for each of the two LEXPRESS service Request for
Proposals on Tuesday,July 14. In both cases,the bidder was the existing contractor,
Joseph's Limousine Service.Proposed prices for the interim contract were raised over the �
existing hourty rate by$5.00 or approximately 18 percent.The price for drivers only was
proposed to be$20,increasing a dollaz for each year of the contract.Nancy Kolb
expressed concem about the prices,and the possibility of negotiating a better rate.While
the interim contract needs to be awazded shortly(since service is to begin under this
contract on September 1, 1998),the drivers only contract would only be awarded after the
) CNG buses have been ordered.Ben Turk and Lorraine Pawcha will be participating in
the Selection Committee for LEXPRESS service.
3. Main purpose of this meeting was to fmalize materials to be included in the Transit
Guide.Revised materials were disVibuted and reyiewed by committee members.Minor
changes were made. Changes will be incorporated to the Logo Contest and Emery Park
announcements before distribution to the Board of Selechnen for their review and
comment at their meeting on Monday,July 20.
4. Don Graham received a request from 7oe Mazino to review a subdivision application on
Concord Avenue with respect to economic benefits derived and contributions to
improvements of the infrastructure of the Town. The subdivision is small(approximately
3 lots)and slightly off the route of the LEXPRESS bus.Committee members suggested a
potential contribution to LEXPRESS service.Don Graham to follow up with Joe Mazino.
5. Nancy Kolb received a request for a route change from Mary Timmins of 568 Lowell
Street. Ms. Timmins would like to see Route 5 retum to the Depot by driving past her
home on Lowell Street and then turning right onto North Street to pick up the remainder •
of the route.Committee members expressed concem that this routing would require
travel through two additional sets of lights,adding time to an already time-constrained
route.
