3 Discovery Day May 24 TAC Participation
Sign up sheet Several TAC members signed up to work including Liz Andrews,Ben Turk,Donald Graham,
Ed Ganshirt and Lorraine Pacocha.
3 Update on Depot Square and HDC Meeting on Thursday. May 1 for Depot Square An informal presentation was
) made to the HDC whose members expressed particular interest in lighting and planting schemes. Glnna
Johnson and Bill Taylor,Carol Johnson Assocs.made a presentation after being introduced by B. Lucas
4 TMA Update: 10 Maguire Road TMA Lexington Club, Boston Properties 10 Maguire Road was directed to
participate in the Hartwell Ave.TMA by the Board of Appeals; Boston Properties has indicated, informally,
that they will participate in the TMA.
5 Dept. of Labor bus and trolley funding certification The capital expenses to purchase four buses and the opera-
ting expenses for the trolley are currently being delayed by the Dept.Of Labor certification process. The
DOL has required that the recipients of FTA funding in this round of Transportation Demand Management
funding negotiate with the Amalgamated Transit Union over language in the certification process. Palmer&
Dodge continue to be copied by B.Lucas on all issues and Information arising from these certifications.
6 Flatley Company funding-Approximately$100,000 for transportation is part of a mitigation by the flatley
company for the building of 80 additional rooms at the Sheraton Tara Inn on Rt.2a. S.Arnold indicated that
would speak with a member of the Board of Selectmen about whether any of these funds could be used to I I
help provide the local match for the buses or the Lex.Concord Shuttle. Betty Eddison would like more info.
Send Board of Appeals ruling. (Attached)
7 Other Marketing TAC discussed marketing for Lexpress Several items were suggested as potential
marketing ideas including a newsletter for Discovery Day(Done); info in the recreation bulletin;council on
aging newsletter(chair car news release sent in for June newsletter). Other ideas included articles for the
) Minuteman especially in the fall and summer;Welcome Wagon B.Turk will look into welcome wagon with
S.Arnold(?); brochures for town pool. Letter to Minuteman thanking merchants who sell tickets,etc.
