1 Approve Minutes for September 18, 1997 Meeting - No action taken
2 Transportation Coordinator
a Departure of B Lucas
b Status of Replacement Selection - DGraham briefed committee on
status Ad was placed in Oct 9th Minuteman Deadline for filing
applications Oct 31st An interview panel including representation
from TAC will be convened shortly thereafter
3 Review Meetings
a Rick White
b George Woodbury - TAC was briefed on Sept 29th review meeting
with RWhite attended by SArnold and DGraham and on DGraham's Oct 3rd
meeting with GWoodbury Considerable discussion of the many topics
covered at the latter meeting Concern was expressed by GWoodbury's
) tentative idea to use the DPW dispatcher to handle the public's calls
re Lexpress and to maintain radio contact with Lexpress drivers
BLucas said, as an alternative, assigning more communications
responsiblity to the Lexpress contractor may be more effective
4 Concord Public Hearing on Lexington-Concord Trolley - TAC was
briefed on the Concord Selectmen's public hearing on the proposed
Revolutionary Ride held on Oct 14th and attended by SArnold, DGraham
and BLucas BLucas and Lou Sideris of the MMNHP made the presentation
and responded to the Selectmen's extensive questions No one person
represented Concord either in the presentation or in the discussion
With BLucas' departure what next steps to take was discussed It was
agreed that DGraham would contact Lou Sideris and try to evolve a plan
of action
5 Status of Budget - BLucas reported that a budget of approximately
$200, 000 and very similar to last year's is being submitted as part of
the DPW budget on Oct 17th
6 Status of CNG Buses - GWoodbury's tentative preference for using
the Hanscom Air Force Base existing fuel station was reported BLucas
reported that she is submitting the Bus RFP/specs to DPW for review
7 Status of Depot Square Improvements - BLucas reported that efforts
are being made to have MassHighway pick up more supervisory and
financial responsibility for the project, and that MHD appears
receptive
)8 MBTA Route 76 Saturday Service - DGraham reported on his contact
with the META Advisory Board and his draft letter done at GWoodbury's
request The draft letter to the Advisory Board, prepared for Leo
'Saturday
signature, proposed acceptance of the termination of
Saturday service on Route 76 in exchange for an MBTA commitment to
participate actively in the implementation of the Hartwell Avenue TMA
Committee members questionned the concept of TAC endorsing a loss in
MBTA service After considerable discussion, it was agreed that
DGraham would find out the status of a letter from Leo McSweeney to
the Advisory Board and would draft a letter to the Minuteman alerting
the public to the issue and listing the MBTA public hearings on the
MBTA's 1998 service plan to be held in November
9 55 Hayden Avenue Development Plan
a Contacts with Spaulding and Slye
b Status of Application - DGraham reported on his contacts with
Spaulding and Slye and the Planning Board The timing of next steps
is dependent on whether Spaulding and Slye are successful in getting a
Special Town Meeting called or whether the item will be brought before
Town Meeting in 1998
10 727 Marrett Road Status of Special Permit - No action taken
11 Other Business - BLucas delivered a reminder from the Town
Manager's office that the deadline for submitting material for the
1997 Town Report is December 24, 1997
12 Next Meeting - Thursday, November 20, 1997 at 7 30 pm.
