LEXPRESS CONTRACT
Committee members discussed the transfer of the Lexpress contract from
A Connoisseur who filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy recently to
Joseph Limousine Service of Medford P Burke stated that there is a
provision in the contract that the service can be assigned to a sub-
contractor with the approval of the town manager E Gibb assured the
committee that he will work with Joseph Limousine to assure a smooth
transition J Albano stated that A-Connoisseur drivers will be
retained as employees by Joseph Linousine Service J Albano advised
the committee that he has been in the transportation business for 17
years and is currently operating the bus service in Burlington The
Lexpress buses will for the time being be parked overnight behind the
Bedford Street Fire Station As there has not been a recent problem with
vandalism the buses may remain parked there when not in use until cold
{ weather in the fall Joseph Limousine Service has garage space available
in Medford
FARE INCREASE
Committe members discussed the fare increase needed for July 1 at great
length before arriving at the following recommendations for the selectmen
Consideration was given to as much simplification as possible and the
desire for fairness toward the various categories of riders
