1 Budget Issues/Town Meeting
S Arnold reviewed budget meeting chronology Rick has been
asked to present a new budget without a trash fee This
would mean a $1 million dollar reduction on the town side
and a $1 million dollar reduction on the school side
L'EXPRESS should probably plan to have a presence at the
Feb 24th Selectmen ' s meeting A discussion ensued
regarding the difficulties involved in the budget process
this year S Arnold commented that it appears that the
best strategy at this point will be simply to keep in touch
with the players and where they stand
L'EXPRESS will probably increase fares because in the FY93
budget we committed to raising another 5% in revenue
Committee members should try to attend the Feb 24th
meeting , as well as the League of Women Voters meeting
tomorrow evening
Statement paper needs to be put together to respond to "what
ifs" What if there were no L'EXPRESS for the elderly?
What if there were no L'EXPRESS for students? What if there
is only an elderly service, who would be missed?
