Comments/Questions
Can I still go to Bedford Street from Emerson Gardens?
How can I get to work at 7: 15 at Hayden if #4 is on the half-hour?
Why cut two routes at all? Thought override vote meant eight routes.
{ Told LEXPRESS would pick up Route #61 MBTA service to Waltham.
Can we get LEXPRESS evenings, late evenings, Sundays?
Why raise fares and cut service?
What are we doing to save money?
Was contract awarded to lowest bidder?
Yes
How is Brookhaven bus being used? Is it sufficient?
Resident felt during override issue it was clear that it was no LEXPRESS
or six routes. People begged to have fares raised. Thanks for education
via letters to editor, Selectmen's meeting, etc.
{ If Route #4 made half hour route won't get to LHS on time, even if students
have to walk further.
Route #8 rider: would be most convenient if kept on hour, personal
convenience making connections.
Route #4 if half hour route: could not make connection at 6 p.m. from MBTA
bus if at 5:30.
Question about 30 days change for contractor and cost.
Not for discussion at this particular meeting.

Burlington Street resident will experience 15 minute walk. Can we serve
-> every two hours or on occasional basis?
{ We looked at cutting off service in middle of day, Saturday service,
45 minute routes, but whole structure breaks down when schedule is
15 minutes before or after the hour.
More limited service, more ridership dropoff. Can we form advocacy group
for LEXPRESS so committee is not fighting battles alone?
Could not afford to keep house, moved to apartment, now losing LEXPRESS.
Route #4 bus is a completely full bus first run, why change?
Are we saving money using contractor vs. Town owning vehicles? If part
of issue is losing ridership, can we sell passes or tickets wholesale?
Maybe students $20 for year?
Maybe subsidy should be more? If increased ridership, more sentiment for
increasing subsidy.
Explanation of subsidies - MBTA and Town.
Older could pay more.
{ Explanation of T's restriction on senior citizen fare.
Pointed out $7.00 taxi fare from Emerson Gardens to St. Brigids.
Burlington fare should be increased.
Countryside Village should continue to be covered.
Goes past Sunnyknoll to hairdressers on Bedford Street. Short walk but
is legally blind.
Passenger who worked on Citizens to Preserve Lex. losing service of #3 but
not complaining because has #2, appreciates work done by committee to
inform voters about override. Thanked.
Public informed TAC would make recommendation next week.
