TRANSPORATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
December 10, 1990
Minutes
Present: Bill Mix, Sally Castleman, Bill Murphy, Pauline Burke,
Sara Arnold, Liz Andrews, Carol Sonduck
1. Burke reminded the committee that it is time to submit a report
for the Town Report, It was agreed that the focus of the report would
be on change and consistency.
2. Eric Gibbs and Cheryl Cronin from A-Connoisseur came to report on
the progress made in preparing to provide service starting January 1.
Gibbs reviewed the points discussed in the attached letter. In
addition, Gibbs reported that two buses are ready; all painting is
being done according to the original drawings, although some
adjustments were made because of a new roof line; the seats are blue;
the floor is black; there are safety strips on the steps; nine drivers
have been hired and he will hire one more.
3. The committee discussed ways to alleviate the concerns of the
passengers about the change and marketing and publicity for the new
contractor. It was agreed that committee members should be at the
Depot at 7 a.m. on January 2 to welcome the new drivers. Burke will
ask the Minuteman to include some publicity, and Mix will write a
letter to the editor to reassure passengers. There was discussion of
decorating the depot, using balloons and giving out flowers. Burke
will explore the options.
