1 Fares. Are we required to charge seniors less? There are many different
fares. Senior fares are a state law Discussed raising fares and leaving
tickets at current price to encourage less cash to drivers. Decided people
don't like the extra step of buying tickets It was decided we should not
recommend a fare increase but should focus on improving service and then
reconsider Decided to not raise pass prices because we want more to be
purchased.
2. Marketing: Make a sheet about passes being a bargain and encourage
students to deposit money directly into farebox. Distribute to students in
their homerooms.
3 Need a sign on the buses that says, 'Do not hand money to driver
4. Map: Small increases in ad rates suggested by Erna Greene. Should give
advertisers some free maps, but then perhaps we should charge $10 for 100
extra maps.
5. Ridership. We need to question students as to why they use and don t use
the system.
6 Hayden Camp. 3 p.m. problem of drivers not remembering to go by Hayden
at the beginning of their routes Decided to have the 2:30 p.m. Route 5 bus
stop at Hayden at the end of its route--as it does anyway--and wait for the
campers and bring all of them to the center to transfer to their own buses.
7 New buses' Have not been ordered even though the contract was signed
several weeks ago. Sara Arnold will look into why.
8 Need volunteers to do regular checks on the buses. Need to solicit
volunteers at Stop and Shop and library.
9 Need transportation bulletin board at Library with maps, etc.
