Neumann, F Rosenberg, J Eddison, S Arnold 1 MBTA Funding: We have a proposal for FY88 by which we will receive $80K. 2. Bid Proposals: Bids were high, discussed going out to bid to try and get lower bids. Could have a corps of Lexington residents who would drive 7-9 a.m. Other options: 6 routes, cut Saturdays, cut a few holidays, cut few hours per week. 7-9 a.m. worst time to cut. Midday cut is a problem because of half days at elementary level 11-12 probably best time to cut if necessary. We would cut the budget the most by reducing to 6 routes; the least by just cutting holiday service. In between--cutting 3 holidays and 1 hour each day or cutting 3 holidays and 1 hour each day during July and August Haskell does not like an early a.m. cut or a Sat. cut. Could get $160K from the Town, or 180K, Eddison thinks. Committee thinks we can get the full amount We don t need to raise fares if it won't raise revenues 3 Marketing: We need a new code-a-phone so we can dial in and change the message--will improve information to the public We will not put the bus in the parade Will have raffle of 3 month pass or a book of tickets at the High school Health Stop wants to put an ad on the buses. It was decided that this was not acceptable. We have always said no.
