HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-11-17-TAC-min.pdf TAC Meeting -- November 17, 1982 Present Sally Castleman, Bill Mix, Don Graham, Sara Arnold 1 Town Report -- approved as submitted 2 Lexpress Budget -- Sally presented the budget with five variables requesting $269,000, level funding, a 5% increase over this year' s appropriation, a 5% decrease from this year's appropriation and a 10% decrease from this year's appropriation Minor changes were made in the wording of the goals 3 Lexpress Report -- Problems have increased in the last two weeks downtime, open money boxes, poorly filled out sheets, etc Recommendation Give 24 hour notice on open fare boxes and enforce the provisions on the contract for insuring this doesn 't continue 4 Resident request to re-route Route 3 so that it circles the road divider on Underwood Road Discussion followed relating to the problems of doing so added running time, driver will skip it, routing a bus based on one person 's need Conclusion We should not do this for the above reasons 5 Lexpress Contract -- The contract, etc was reviewed page by page for clarification Sara will contact Bob Provincial of Commonwealth Thomas on the following issues -- how old a vehicle can we accept and get three years out of it? -- what is meant by the Commonwealth of Mass Small Bus Transportation 15-20 Passenger Bus Specifications? -- Is the 22 seat Thomas called a Mighty Mite? Parts of contract still to be finalized -- Index for fuel escalation clause -- Escalation clause that addresses either gasoline or diesel prices -- Definition of downtime and hours of service provided -- Requirement for contractor to bid both options (probably we shouldn' t) -- Mileage and age of buses to be allowed 6 Extra Mall Bus -- Sara will talk to Larry Chait about operating the extra Mall bus on the hour and on the half hour to sense whether this could cause problems with the merchants Sally and Sara will review past experience to determine hours and days of operation Since Christmas and New Years fall on Saturdays the schedule will vary from past years
