Sally Castleman, Bill Mix, Joyce Hals, Lance Neumann, Webb Sussman, Paul Newman, Chris Keefe, Sara Arnold, Elaine Dratch hrYA. 2OSPL Last meeting minutes - reviewed - no changes MBTA Hartwell service is being reviewed Rec from TIC expected from Julien Bussgang Discovery Carnations appreciated 1 person got personal lesson Nothing will be done on June 5 (rain date) Meeting on routes Letters in paper - articles for T uesday, June 22 - 8 00 P.M Sara will try to get G-15 Will discuss Winter Street and Middle, Lincoln, Marrett Road triangle Eldred will not be mentioned but we will remain open to all comments from the public Cost Analysis Chris Keefe - has looked into Commonwealth Thomas, Northeast Bus Sales and E F Hutton Will continue to pursue these Needs our specs Our requirements given as follows Buses cover 38 000 miles per year Need 17 seats minimum Step - less than 1 foot from ground Bill will work on Purchase and Re-sale prices from manufacturers Elaine - New England Wheels Lance - Will give research materials to Chris Joyce - Will look into purchasing used vehicles from rental companies We will wait on pursuing local maintenance possibilities Chris will be available in the town hall as a clearing point and contact person Hub Bus Lines Goodman will get an extension until August 1 Town Manager wants us to go out to bid Letter to EOTC - Committee is concerned about the tenor of the letter The Committee does not see that there can be a reversal in the Town s present position unless the Town decides to commit themselves to Hub at this time The Committee has been requested to prepare appropriate specs to go out to bid Discussion on penalties and incentives to perform to contract requirements Conclusions - cannot monitor missed runs Standees should pay 1/2 ticket School Buses should not be mentioned because they are not to be allowed Statistics should be provided regularly to the town Transportation Committee Minutes - June 1, 1982 At the Selectmen' s Meeting the following points were made Want reliable service Want comfortable buses Need the 6 15 p.m bus Standing is unsafe Drivers are an asset to the company Willing to pay more for better service Fred will work on re-wording of the contract Paul Newman is available for assistance Lexpress PassPrices Conclusions Regular Senior A pass thru June 1983 $55 $30 Six Months $35 $15 Three Months $25 $10 Family Max $175 One Month (May and June only) $10 $ 5
