SELECTMEN'S MEETING
EXECUTIVE SESSION
June 5, 1995
Present Selectmen Chairman McSweeney, Mr. Dailey, Mr. Busa and Mrs. Eddison; Mr.
Cohen, Town Counsel, Mr. White, Town Manager; Mrs. Novak, Assistant Town Manager and
Ms. Smith, Executive Clerk.
Housing,
LexHAB representatives Dave Eagle and Marshall Derby reviewed the tenant application
process on several units. They also reviewed a proposal to use use 15% of the net profits to
subsidize the rental unit rates to alleviate a problem with taking Section 8 and 707 people on
low income. The intent would be to divide the subsidies into three categories: $15,000
toward 0-15% discounts, $15,000 to 16% to 30% discounts and another $15,000 for 31% to
50% discounts. It could reduce a person's rent to $375 a month for a family of 4 in a two
bedroom unit with a family income of $16,000.

Mr. Cohen informed the Board there will be some litigation regarding the student injured at
the Woodland Road site.
Route 2A - Mr. White reviewed the status of a mediation process to resolve the Route 2A
project status Everybody connected with the appeal process had been contacted by the
agency of the Commonwealth that mediates projects at DEP. We found at that meeting that
essentially all parties had agreed to some form of mediation except the Town Leo and I met
with Dick Cook to come up with a list of ground rules. I faxed all of you a copy of it at
Leo's request on Thursday.
Mr. White was asked to forward the list of ground rules to the State as soon as possible.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 10.20 p.m
