August 14, 1995
Present. Selectmen Chairman McSweeney, Mr. Dailey, Mr. Busa, Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison;
Mr. White, Town Manager, Mrs. Novak, Assistant Town Manager; and Ms. Smith, Executive
Clerk.
Litigation
Mr. McSweeney reviewed the status of the Route 2A mediation. The group is now down to a
smaller working group and will be coming back to the larger group on September 14
There was discussion of Sheraton requesting a sign be placed on Town property to indicate
their driveway off of Massachusetts Avenue. Mr. White indicated that it would be owned by
the Town on Town property but the cost would have to be absorbed by Sheraton
Collective Bargaining
Mr. White reviewed the status of negotiations with the unions He has reached settlement
with the Public Works and Police Officers unions at 2% for FY96 He has not reached
agreement with the Dispatchers Union, Fire Department Umon or the Command Staff of the
Police Department.
There was discussion on how to cut down on overtime costs.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 3.00 p.m.
