Litigation - Towing Bid Mr. Cohen indicated he had made a thorough investigation on the lateness of Mal's bid and 'aid it seemed clear to him there was no question they were late. iiiidElet Cuts Mr. Wlute advised the Board that it will be necessary to fmd $150,000 in order to make up a shortfall in the school budget coming about from the early retirement cost miscalculation. Several budget cutting options were discussed. Mr. White said he would put together a list of possible cuts for the next meeting. School Ads Suit vr Cohen updated the Board on the status of the Douglas Yeo suit. He expects to hear by tomorrow from the Great American Insurance Company. The School Committee invited Norman Cohen from Palmer & Dodge to an executive session of the School Committee. .1,ion Berger was also there. Norman spoke with Lois Coit after the meeting since the Town lids been sued. It is the Board's decision to make as to which attorney would defend the case. Lois said the School Committee had two offers; one from Jason Berger of Testa Hurwitz and the other from Hill and Barlow to defend the suit on a pro bono basis. The Board indicated that they would prefer Palmer & Dodge to defend at the insurance company's expense. If they don't go with Palmer & Dodge, the Board would want to go with the insurance company's selected counsel. Lois said the School Committee was unhappy with Stoneman, Chandler & Miller and were going to use Jason's firm as counsel to the School Committee. pon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 11:45 p m. \ true record, Attest. /1.
