A quorum was present. Chair Jeri Zeder read the script for remotely conducted open meetings. Members voted unanimously: Coppe Aye, Cohen, Aye, Joyner Aye, Quezada, Aye, Zalisk, Aye, Zeder, Aye. Approval of the June 16, 2024 minutes was moved by Jeri Zeder and seconded by Marian Cohen and voted unanimously. Voice vote: Coppe Aye, Cohen, Aye, Joyner Aye, Quezada, Aye, Zalisk, Aye, Zeder, Aye. Discussion Second Draft of Proposed Report Page 14-16 of First Draft edits: • Add changes to Mass reforms prior to 2020 Need more information about mail in voting in Lexington specifically has total number of voters in Lexington declined • Delete first sentence of last paragraph(Margaret author). Add second sentence to page 21 Add pre-registration and automatic voter registration to page 21 • Added chart with voting by age in Lexington page 16 Information on age categories comes from the Pew Foundation; confirms that older voters turn out more frequently than younger voters; question about how the actual numbers compare to the number of registered voters in each category • Page 11, same day voter registration Questions: • Does Town Clerk send congratulatory notes to newly pre-registered voters • Does data support idea that parents of school age children vote in higher numbers in debt exclusion elections for schools than seniors.
