Minutes of Meeting
July 19,2017
A meeting of the Recreation Committee was held on Wednesday,July 19, 2017 at 6 OOpm at Pine
Meadows Golf Club located at 255 Cedar St, Lexington, Ma.
Members Present. Rick DeAngelis, Jason Denoncourt, Lisah Rhodes, and Sandra Shaw
Members Absent. Ruixi Yuan
Staff Present. Melissa Battite, Director of Recreation and Community Programs and Christine
Dean, Community Center Director
Others Present. John Allen(Pine Meadows Golf Club) and Tom Shiple (Lexington United
Soccer Club)
1 Meeting Minutes from June 21,2017
The Recreation Committee reviewed the minutes from the June 21st meeting and Rick DeAngelis
moved and Sandra Shaw seconded approval of the Recreation Committee Minutes of June 21,
2017 The Recreation Committee voted 4-0 to approve the minutes of June 21,2017
2. Community Center Building Use and Fees
After a bnef discussion around current usage of the building, it was requested that the group be
provided more information about comparable facilities and fee structures It was suggested that
the discussion be tabled until September for anoint meeting with the Community Center Program
Advisory Committee At that time a list of current users, along with their suggested priority level,
will be presented to the group Lisah Rhodes will reach out to some of the more vocal opposition
to the fee-based plan and invite them to the next meeting. Rick DeAngelis made a motion to
further review the building use plan after more information is presented. The Recreation
Committee voted 4-0 to approve.
3 Recreation and Community Programs Report
Melissa Battite provided the Committee with her monthly update The June 2017 Recreation and
Community Programs Report is included as an attachment to the minutes
4 Golf Updates and Tour of Course
The Recreation Committee received an update on golf course operations from John Allen, Pine
Meadows Golf Club Superintendent, after which they took a tour of the course The site visit
included discussions of the 4th green renovations that will begin in October
The next meeting of the Recreation Committee is scheduled to take place on Wednesday,August
16th,2017 at 7 OOpm at the Lexington Community Center,39 Marrett Road,Lexington.
The Jule' 19, 2017 meeting of the Recreation Committee adjourned at 7 25pm and was followed by the
course tour
