Re VIDEO for Handicapped of HISTORIC HOMES AND BUILDINGS
a work has been done in the past by Rich Safford and
more recently by Chuck Cole It was suggested that
Chuck call Rich with any new information
b Rich said that the Historic Commission has approved
the project but is waiting for the completion of
the Museum at the Depot
c A reminder that the federal Minuteman Park would
like to participate

2 Re the Plant Action Development
a Developer Rising Tide - 40B plans
b Initial plans given to review to Bob Harris
Changes are expected
* c March 20th League of Women Voters is holding a
meeting - need someone to attend or write letter
d Chuck Cole to meet with Rep J Kaufman to try to
get an ammendment made to 40B Affordable Housing
** to include Housing for the Handicapped
e A letter to be sent to the local 40B Committee
by Steve Baran, ADA Coordinator re .making one unit
FULLY ACCESSIBLE FOR W/C Handicapped while
negotiations with the developer are going on
Ask for 1 level ranch unit - See Woburn St units
built by developer Peter Kelley It includes AAB
rules and regulations re doorways, kitchens,
bathroom, lighting etc See AAB rules and regs re
Multiple Dwellings
Remind developer that although 40B does not include
handicapped housing that the standard has changed
since 40B was enacted

4 Proposal made to obtain about 50 copies of the AAB booklet
and that one be given to all committees and inspectors that
deal with HANDICAPPED issues so that none can say that they
do not know the rules and regulations Steve Baran said that
the expense was prohibitive He will request 10 copies for
the department heads
Steve suggested that the booklet might be available
electronically Dan Murphy will investigate
L 5 Bob was asked re firewall legislation a letter needs

was no time to elaborate further. This needs to be
brought up again at the earliest possible time

6 Re 52 Waltham St and the lack of handicap access The
Building Inspector - Steve Fredrickson issued a permit for
redoing the front porch IF THE COST INCLUDES THE STAIRS
AND TOTALS $100, 000 then the AAB rules and regs must be
followed Mr Fredrickson to investigate and call Bob
Harris back
The question arose as to whether the inspectors under
Mr Fredrickson are aware of the AAB rules and regs
Suggestion the inspectors be sent to a two day seminar
on Handicapped issues See mailing
* Suggestion that Chuck Cole talk to Mr Fredrickson re
sensitivity to handicapped issues when issuing permits .
7. Suggestion that Mr. White - Town Manager be invited to
an Enablement Committee at his convience to meet the
members he appointed and be brought up to date on the
handicap issues that we are trying to resolve
