Recreation Department fee policy for people with disabilities
Barbara Barrows suggested that since the Recreation Department offered a
reduced fee to the elderly, it should do so as well for people with disabilities.
Karen Simmons stated that the Recreation Department is 100% supported by
user fees. It did offer scholarships to people who could not afford to use the
facilities. Barbara replied that people with disabilities should not have to
pass a means test. The matter will be discussed with the Recreation
Department board on March 28.
