ADA TITLE I - EMPLOYMENT ISSUES
None at this time.
ADA TITLE II - MUNICIPAL. COUNTY AND STATE FACILITIES
Curb cuts - guests: George Woodbury, Peter Chalpin
1749 Mass. Ave. (Steve's Ice Cream)
Existing cut leaves a gap between street and ramp causing wheelchair to get
caught in channel.
Meriam St.
Path of travel at corner(s) of alley next to Minuteman newspaper office (9
( Meriam St.) has no curb cut(s)
Edison Way to Mario's
Curb cuts between these locations are too steep and too short.
177 Bedford St.
There is a curb cut on one side of the street and not one on the other
55 Bedford St.
The existing curb cut is not in line with the crosswalk.
Hearing accessibility - Cary Hall
Steve Baran has arranged for users of Cary Hall to be informed that an assisted
listening system is available both by posting signs at the entrance and having Town
Manager's office clerks notify approved users. Marge Battin, Town Meeting
Moderator, will announce availability of system. Next year's Town Warrant will
advise interested parties of the availability of a sign language interpreter (according to
Acting Assistant Town Manager)

Fred Sweet, Head Custodian, agreed to put in budget.
Hearing accessibility - school system
Pat Kane to investigate school buildings' hearing accessibility and report back to the
Committee
Hearing accessibility - TTY
Received quote and awaiting information on satisfied users.
Senior Center door control
On hold. This was to be mainly for the convenience of Social Day Care Program.
Funding has been sought from the Town to move the program to a separate building
in another location. Committee believes, however, there is a continuing need for
convenience of the public.
Door Control, Inc. (1-800-341-2400) used by CVS is the preferred vendor if this
inquiry should be resumed.
Title II Transition Plan
Site visits are finished. Emily Silberberg, Bob Harris and Peter Chalpin will be
meeting in the coming weeks to finalize report due to be completed May 1
Cary Library Director, Carol Mahoney, and her Assistant, July Triessel, would like
to meet with members of the Committee about the current architectural drawings.
Emily and Bob submitted a Title II review of the Library to Carol.
Lexington Public Schools: Emily Silberberg will contact Tony Capezza who worked
on a transition plan with Enablement Committtee members in 1991
ADA TITLE III - PLACE OF PUBLIC ACCOMMODATION
Hayden Recreation Center, 24 Lincoln St.
Donald Mahoney, Director, agreed to make parking lots handicap accessible. Pat
Kane has agreed to verify

Wilson Farm, 10 Pleasant St.
Emily Silberberg spoke with Scott Wilson, owner Wilson Farms is currently working
with DBTAC (Disability Business Technical Assistance Center) on making the new
stand comply with current codes. Emily will be writing a follow-up letter to Scott
letting him know that we are here to help and encouraging him to comply with the
new state codes (cc to Steve Frederickson)
Lexington Arts & Crafts Society, 130 Waltham St.
Michael Martignetti will draft a letter asking for voluntary compliance.
King's Mobil, 396 Waltham St.
Signage needs to be changed prohibiting animals inside the station to making an
exception for guide dogs. Health Department Inspector, John Garside, agreed to make
new signs.
Bruegger's Bagel Bakery, 413 Waltham St.
Emily will follow up in next month.
Grey Nuns Provincial House, 10 Pelham Rd.
To be renovated into an assisted living facility; zoning variances being sought;
opportunity for Senior Center space; involvement of Enablement Committee.
Upcoming discussion in Town Meeting.
Locke Village Walkway, 661 Lowell St.
Rick Safford has been informed that construction will get underway
Stone Meadow Golf, 675 Waltham St.
They have not changed their handicapped parking space to move it close to main
entrance. Emily Silberberg will follow up in Spring. Michael Martignetti will talk
with them about their new pitch and put facility
