Title I - Employment
Title II - Municipal, County and State Facilities
Council on Aging - Darlene Adams/Nancy Freed - policy adopted by COA board opens
up programs and library to people with disabilities; inquiry being made about similarly
opening up friendly visitor program.
Curb cuts - some are being installed in relation to Enablement Committee priorities,
e.g. Worthen Rd. And Bedford St. by Fire Dept. Headquarters across from Walgreen's
and Stop & Shop--two new curb cuts installed.
Hearing accessibility - TTY - now installed in Steve Baran's office.
Transitional plan - Town, Schools - Emily Silberberg. Consideration being given by
Permanent Buildings Committee (contact Erna Greene, Secretary) to centralizing
school programs for students with disabilities. Will this have a segregating effect?
School accessibility uneven in different schools. To contact Superintendent to get
updated report on general compliance.
Budget for ADA requirements - $15 700 to be requested annually as part of Public
Works budget.
Tom McKinnon - Lexington Housing Authority - Steve Baran and Bob Harris have been
working with Tom McKinnon to prepare letter to Housing Authority setting forth needs;
also working with Tom re scooter
Title III - Place of Public Accommodation
Cary Library - to be invited to March meeting at 3 p.m. so that we may support
their plans which are in conformity with ADA requirements. They have submitted a
new proposal for funding. Carol Mahoney and/or Julie Triessel to be invited to next
meeting. Emily Silberberg to extend an invitation.
Food Pantry Church of our Redeemer 6 MeriamSt. needs ramping; letter by Lorraiine
Buonomo to Church.

Handicapped parking - Emily Silberberg - has toured with Bigelow Moore and has
talked with George Woodbury who-is communicating with Steve Frederickson, Building
Commissioner
Bruegger's Bagel Bakery - Rick Safford - call to Myra Berloff
Covenant Health Systems - Mary Anne Outwater, Director of Assisted Living
Operations, and architect invited for 4 p.m.
1656 Mass. Ave. - Michael Martignetti and Bob Harris were in favor of making a
compromise on side entrance accessibility, approved by Historic Districts Commission;
to be completed; current side entrance has been removed.
Post boxes for handicapped patrons - Enablement Committee has written to Postal
Committee requesting action.
Bank accessibility - Dan Murphy
29 Hartwell Ave. - letter to Building Inspector regarding change of use from industrial to
medical facility
Historical buildings - need for video representations of interiors of these buildings
( Intersection Lowell St./Woburn St. - Steve Baran to write letter requesting update

Can Luterman -her health has improved
Louise Massimilla - porch lift and walk
Framingham training on Friday February 28 - Michael Martignetti and Martin Quinlan
Funding -funds needed to cover costs of travel to training, mailings. Should Commit-
tee have a budget for awareness issues, overhead expenses, stipends, donations to
people with disabilities who need equipment? Steve has received RFR from Mass.
Developmental Disabilities Council.
Commercial buildings needing building permits - letter to go to Steve Frederickson
requesting automatic early alert to Enablement Committee. Bob Harris, Emily S-
ilberberg and Steve Baran will draft letter
Committee name change - Access Committee? For further consideration.
