Thursday July 20, 1995 at 3:00 p.m. in the Senior Center
Present: Robert Harris, Co-Chair; Emily Silberberg, Co-Chair Christine Chase; Martin Quinlan; Gary
Strong; Steve Baran, ADA Coordinator (recorder)

1. Minutes 6/21/95
The Minutes were approved.
2. Hearing accessibility Cary Hall
dates of Cary Hall events Steve will obtain
survey uuestionnaire draft - reviewed by Committee and revisions made
letter invitinc testers Steve has recruited two volunteers; he will prepare cover letter to go
out with survey questionnaire and list of forthcoming Cary Hall events to members of the
Committee + notice to Minuteman
3. Hearing accessibility Town Manager's office (TTY)
( Christine Chase will get three quotes on a TTY for the Town Manager's office,
4. Hearing accessibility school system
Pat Kane is investigating communications in the schools.
5. Letter to Minuteman about ADA issues facing the Town (drafted by Emily Silberberg
Emily Silberberg read a draft letter to the Committee. Bob Harris suggested additional projects in
which the Committee was instrumental
6. Title 11 Transition Plan (Emily Silberberg and Steve Baran)
Meeting will be scheduled.
7 Lexington Eye Associates, 99 Waltham St.
A letter was sent on July 18 noting primary entrance not accessible and requesting a plan for
compliance by the end of the month.
8. Senior Center door control
One estimate has been obtained, Steve Baran will seek additional estimates.

9 Quilt
A quilt donated by Christine Chase to enhance hearing accessibility in the Senior Center will be hung
after backing has been added.
10. Brochure on accessibility of commercial establishments and other services
This was seen as a desirable project in need of volunteers. Martin Quinlan will bring in model of how
it was done in Santa Fe. Emily Silberberg will mention the project in her letter
11. Community Access Monitor Regional Training
Committee seeking to locate a desirable site. Several have been ruled out for various reasons.
12. Accessibility poster boards
Christine Chase brought in poster boards to be distributed to churches and synagogues on the subject of
accessibility for the Committee to review
13. Next meeting
Next meeting: August 23 at 3 p.m.
