Christine Gelling, Staff Jane Trudeau ABSENT Barbara Anne Kriebel CHAIRPERSON'S REMARKS: Clark Cowen called the meeting to order at 4 40 p.m. and welcomed new member, Jane Trudeau. The discussion centered around the COA sponsoring a program discussion on the proposed Override vote. John Curry pointed out that the Selectmen have not voted for a Debt Exclusion Override as yet and the difficulty of planning such a program before the issues are on the table. It was pointed our that the last possible deadline for the November Newsletter in Oct. 23; and it is unlikely that anything definite will be decided before then. There was a long discussion about the format of the program. Great stress was placed on the importance of giving both sides equal time to present their viewpoints. A motion was passed stating "If the Town Meeting votes for an override and the Selectmen vote for an override, the format for such a program will be for each side to have three representatives give a half-hour presentation, followed by a question and answer period. The moderator and date for the program will be decided by the Executive Committee of the COA Board. The meeting was adjourned at 6 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Phyllis Rand, secretary l
