CHAIRPERSON' S REMARKS Clark Cowen called the meeting to order at
4 35 p m and welcomed the Board _a.: the new Adult Day Care house
Clark explained that the terms of four Board members are up for
renewal- -Clark Cowen Jack Fisher hd Grant and Phylli Rand Ai ..
except Ed Grant have indicated the' want to continue -As member
Ed will let Clark know of his decision
MINUTES The minutes of the May 21 meeting were accepted with one

TREASURER' S REPORT John Curry reported that the COA budget and the

DIRECTOR' S REPORT
ADULT DAY CARE PROGRAM Nancy reported that the new site has been
open a week and a half and eller and their fam_lie are ✓et
pleased with the new site The program is full now and there is
a waiting list from which Ca_ ,ly Graff t es processing
assessments
Invitations to the Open House to h neld on Wednesday June 25 5
to 8 to m have been sent to abo_ 250 people in Lexington and
Lincoln- -town officials town mee ing members , school committee
members and Minuteman Tech School officials There will be
publicity in the Lexington Minuteman It was suggested that
invitations should also De sent to the local clergy as well as
ser ice providers The suggestions was made that name tags he worn
b\ the staff and COA Board members who will serve as guides
NUTRITION PROGRAM Nancy reported on the status of the MOW account
as of June 6 1997 There is a deficit of $1938 with receivables
for Mar and June of over $5000 The COA transfer of $3000 and the
FCOA scholarship of $3698 should resolve the problem In the
future bids will be sent out by the 10th of each month with
personal contact on delinquent accounts Also quarterly
scholarship reports will be sent to the FCOA
PERSONAL A new administrative assistant has been hired, Diane
Snell ; she will start on June 30
JULY/AUGUST PROGRAMS The Rotary Club will host two picnics this
summer at the Villages - -July 16 at Creeley Village and Asyu.st 13
at Vynebrooke for Vynebrooke and Countrys_de Leside.' s
On Tuesday August 5 there will be Summer Cookout on the soccer
field adjacent to the Senior Center This will be catered by DAKA
the food supplier with a requested donation of $1 75 It was
suggested that in order to avoid parking problems with the tenants
shuttle bus service be made available for the residents of the
Villages Another suggestion was to solicit rhe help of the Ponce
Department with parking on Mass Alt
On behalf of the Education Committee Gene Isotti will be present
a program on the History of the American Musical Theater in July
"here will be four sessions on Tuesdays at 1 p m - -July 8 15 , 22
and 29 Jackie Davison discussed ideas for programs for the fall - -
sampling of foods presented by different Lexington restaurants and
a program on depression
Clark brought up the idea of a weekend Elderhostel offering several
different courses Peg Jemison will work with Clark and Chris
Gerling on this
Clark asked Jack Fisher to review the by-laws especially with
regard to the proxy vote
Board members were invited to the annual FCOA Breakfast on Friday

about the 96 -9- e•-encs and future plans
The meeting was adjourned at 5 45 p m
