HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-06-11-PBC-min.pdf TOWN OF LEXINGTON,MASSACHUSETTS PERMANENT BUILDING COMMITTEE Minutes of Tuesday June 11 2002 meeting in the Construction Trailer on the high school grounds, as approved November 12, 2002. The meeting was called to order at 7 10 p.m. by Chairman Kelley with other PBC members Himmel (later), Johnson (later), Carl Oldenburg (new Library member), Pierce, Poinelli and Touart present. Also attending were Project Manager/Owner's Representative Bill Kealy Assistant Project Manager Dan Vallee, School Facilities Manager Moynihan, Library Director Carol Mahoney and HMFH representative Gabe Petino for school construction. Materials distributed included requisitions for payment from Peabody and Alexandra passed out for inspection then collected for action and the following: Project Manager's Agenda and Report on school and library projects Library reauisition for$184,441.53 was discussed along with a report from Pierce on construction progress. The contractor's job superintendent,praised by Pierce, was replaced by Alexandra last Friday Commented that Alexandra's CPM chart posted on the wall bears little resemblance to reality Following a letter from Town s attorney Rodgers and a conference between Town Manager and Alexandra's owners, there has been improvement in the contractor's performance, Pierce reported. Upon a motion by Poinelli seconded by Pierce Alexandra's requisition approval was VOTED Suggestions for new School Committee representative to serve on the PBC for the schools projects were discussed briefly New elementary school progress, as reported by Moynihan, is now into Design Development work by TLCR. The Recreation Committee and Superintendent of Public Grounds David Pinsonneault will coordinate on site planning, and a meeting with school staff is scheduled for next week. A meeting is scheduled with the School Committee on Tuesday June 25 at the School Administration Building. Since there will be only one building available as swing space, only one building can be built at a time. Roughly, it is anticipated that Harrington will go out to bid about June, 2003 with a 22-month construction schedule. Then Fiske will be bid. Requisition No. 27 for high school construction from Peabody for$359 758 was distributed for inspection. Kealy reported that the G and E buildings are moving along. Unsatisfactory work is being tracked with punch lists and redone if needed. Monetized punch lists now being compiled. Meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m. ?q Respectfully submitted, ept (�-G. ' V� co��— Erna S. Greene, Secretary ADDENDUM. Eastern s requisition was not presented to the PBC meetings of May and June. This was due to an error in computing the amount of the requisition. Subsequently a requisition from Eastern in the amount of$30,539 16 was signed by the Chairman and processed by the Comptroller's office.
