COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING - JUNE 3Q , 1992 (SPECIAL MEETING)
Present : Dorothy Boggia, Kevin Grimes , Harriet Onello, Ed Grant ,
Barbara Rubin, Jim Fenske, Beth Klarman, Linda Crew
Vine (staff) .
Absent : Monica Chang, Muriel Taylor
Meeting was cailed to order by Chairperson, Dorothy Boggia at
4 : 35 p .m.

Remarks : Dorothy announced the appointment of Bob Cushman to the
board, a welcome addition for the board.
Dorothy will continue to represent the COA on the
Minuteman Cane Award Committee .
A letter of aqreement regarding the division of tasks �
as co-chairs was presented and will be incorporated
into the minutes .
\ The following addition was made to the letter: "In the
event the assigned chairperson is unable to perform a
given task, that person shali delegate the task to one
of the two other co-chairpersons" .
Amendment of By-Laws :
Article II - offices may include one or more co-
chairpersons to serve jointly as co-chairpersons
Article III - Section B.
to p�rmit a vote either by voice vote or closed
ballot .
Motion: To amend Article II , Section A of the By-Laws
such that the officers to be elected pursuant
to Article II may include one or more Co-
Chairmen or Co-Chairpersons to serve jointly
as chairman, and also that Article IIS ,
Operations section be amended such that the
position of Chairman may be filled by Co-
Chairmen or Co-Chairpersons so elected.

To amend Article II , Section B, Election ;
Procedure, such that the election of officers
following the Nominating Committee report may
be conducted by a voice vote of council
members present or by a closed ballot .
Motion was seconded and accepted by voice vote.
Election of offiaers :
Motion made to accept slate of officers as presented by
Nominating Committee member, Barbara Rubin. '

Secretary - Vacancy; Board will try to have a
rotating assignment to take minutes, to
be designated by chairperson of each
meeting.
Motion was seconded and accepted by a voice vote .
Treasurer°s Report : Jim Fenske
The books are balanced ! Social Day at least within $24
of Town's numbers .
Direator's Report : Linda Crew Vine
The F.C.O.A. purchased a new computer for the COA
office .
A new Outreach Social Worker will come on staff August
3rd . She has exceptional ability and was selected from
35 applicants . Name to be announced ,
A new SHINE Counselor has been assigned for the Senior
Center - Mr. Charles Roth.

Other : Seth Klarman thanked khe board and said farewell with
promise to visit .
Thanks was given to both Beth Klarman and Dorothy
Boggia for their efforts on behalf of the COA and all
of the board.
Meeting adjourned at 5 : 20 p .m.
