Home My WebLink About1987-10-05-COA-min.pdf COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING, OCTOBER 5, 1987 Present Others present Wendell Benway Jack Eddison Dorothy Boggia Jack Gardner Ruth Butler Frank Stowell George Doughty Mary Brock Connie Foster Terrence Gent Barbara Rub in Louis Tropiano Staff Linda Vine The meeting was called or order at 4 30 p m REMARKS Terry Gent gave a brief summary of the matters discussed at the Architectural and Heating Study for the Center and commented that we must continue to cooperate with the various committees involved, DIRECTOR' S REPORT Linda Vine Linda elaborated on the topics outlined in her written report, item by item She also mentioned that the Lexington Walkers had turned out in force, 35 went to the Governor' s Cup and received a certifi- cate which she displayed She further commented on the fact that the Center programs are going well and highlighted a few of the goals and revisions that are contemplated, especially in the area of Human Services Much more information forthcoming in the next meeting Director' s Report accepted as read TREASURFR'S REPORT Wendell Benway Copies of the Treasurer' s report were distributed to those present and various items explained The Proposed Budget for next year was presented and comments invited Treasurer' s Report accepted as read COMMENTS ON PROPOSED BUDGET Terry Gent offered information regarding light and power items It was suggested that the Rec for Senior Citizens item might be increased next year It was also suggested that we examine our telephone service for possible reduction in cost Budget to be studied and reviewed, and approved at next month's meeting ACCESSORY APARTMENT SEMINAR. Connie Foster 70 people attended the conference which was an excellent turnout The presentation was very good and so was the luncheon Those present showed a great deal of enthusiasm Terry commented that we should keep in touch with Patrick Hare as to the direction we should take He also complimented Ruth Butler on her splendid presentation and the enthusiastic response she received from the audience MEETING ADJOURNED AT 5 45 p m Respectfully submitted, -14 Mary ?lock Recording Secretary, C 0 A Board
