HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-02-10-COA-min.pdf COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD MEETING MINUTES - February 10, 1987 Present Dorothy Boggia, Jack Gardner, Louis Tropeano, George Doughty, Ed Grant, Jack Eddison Absent Edith Cheever, Natalie Johnson, Wendell Benway, Gladys Scanlon, Barbara Rubin, Terry Gent, Ralph Freidin Others Present Bill Sen, Frank Stowell Staff Linda Crew Vine, Connie Ruocco 1) The meeting was called to order at 4 45 p m. 2) The minutes of the 1/13/87 were corrected to indicate that Barbara Rubin and Louis Tropeano were present The minutes were approved as corrected 3) Director's Report Volunteer Recognition - Friday, February 13th at 2 30 p m Boy Scout Luncheon - Thursday, February 19th at 12 00 (noon) Candidates ' Forum - Monday, February 23rd at 1 30 p.m Health Lecture on Sexuality - Friday, February 27th at 2 00 p.m (a) Senior Health Monitor Program - There was discussion and a motion to allocate $2,000 to the Senior Health Monitor Program out of 1987 Formula Grant Funds This motion was seconded and passed (b) Linda is preparing information for MCOA/MMHC on the following issues - food quality monitoring - confidentiality of information (c) Linda mentioned the following issues which need resolution - Business Hours 1 COA Policy on Weekends and Holidays 2 COA Snow Days - Fiscal Policy 1 Formula Grant dollars 2 Meals on Wheels deficit funding 4 Connie Ruocco, Lexington C 0.A Social Day Care Director, described her program which has a census of 20 clients and a daily average of 16 attendees The SDC Program is funded by State Home Care Funds 5 Jack Gardner related that MMHC is sponsoring a day at the State House with Represent- atives and Senators Topics on the Agenda will be the Homemaker Shortage; a Bill on Long-term Community Care; and FY 88 Supplementary Funds 6 Ed Grant discussed the telephone booth for the lobby The meeting was adjourned at 5 45 p.m Respectfully submitted, Nratia...
