Notes from Monday March 24 1997 Meetina in the Custodians ' Workroom,
Cary Memorial Building
The meeting began at 7 42 p m with committee members Bruckman, Kelley
and Touart present Also present were School Committee member Dini and
Director of School Buildings Operation Moynihan
The article on the project in the Lexington Minuteman was praised
The RFP for design development of the project was advertised in the
Minuteman last Thursday and already 20 have responded and will be
invited to an information meeting Six firms have been sent letters
requesting an validation of HMFH' s work on their report, according to
state regulations on hiring design firms Proposals pursuant to the RFP
are due April 17
Kelley's recommendation that meetings be held as soon as possible at
each school with the site based councils , school administration and
students regarding the proposed renovation/addition project was met with
favor John Moynihan agreed to take up the idea with the administration
council at their meeting this week
Generally agreed that there should be written guidelines for the project
such a limiting footprints of building, limiting distances between
classes or along hallways to exits Kelley will draft a compendium of
these for consideration at the next committee meeting He will also
work with John Moynihan on gathering materials and job descriptions for
hiring building project managers
Meeting ended about 8 15 until Tuesday, April 1, at 7 30 p m
