March 13, 2024 Meeting Minutes
Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250)
convened in a hybrid format in the Parker Room at the Town Office Building and via Zoom video
conference on Wednesday March 12, 2024 at 4:30 by Ms. Barry as allowed by legislation
(S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the Massachusetts Open Meeting
Law.

• The meeting was called to order at 4:31 PM by Ms. Barry
• A meeting held by the monument selection will be held following this meeting to present
the 4 semi finalists for the 250th monument. Commission members are invited to attend
as individuals.
• Town Meeting will be taking up Articles 24 and 46 on April 10th.
• Article 24 seeks $500,000 for 250th celebration related needs
• Article 46 is a resolution to invite members of the royal family to the 250th.
• Members are encouraged to attend as individuals in support of the articles.
• The next Collaborative Meeting is Thursday, April 4th.
o Meeting will be held at the Armory in Concord.
• Approval of Meeting Minutes
o Ms. Barry recommended deferring the approval of minutes in the interest of time.
• Nomination and Election of new Commission Clerk
o A large thank you to Jillian Tung for serving as the commission's clerk for the
past year.
o Mr. Lucente nominated Mr. Michelson to be the next clerk.
• Motion: Ms. Barry moved that Noah Michelson be the new clerk. The motion is seconded
by several members and passed unanimously.
• April 19th One Year to Go event update
o The website group has been working hard and the design was shown off on
Friday
o Event working group met to flesh out the schedule and invitees
• Countdown Calendar Update
o The calendar is coming along nicely, with construction finishing and painting
beginning soon
o The details of the unveiling moment are being worked on
o A calendar keeper invitation system has been built, allowing invitees to choose
their date and providing automated reminders. Approximately 280 groups have
been identified so far.
• Parker's Prelude Update
o The small working group is due to be meeting soon. More details will come after
they have met with Anthem.
• 2025 Schedule Updates
o The possibility of a full Paul Revere and William Dawes ride reenactment has
been introduced at the state level. There are still many details regarding safety
and logistics that need to happen, and conversations with MEMA will begin after
Patriots' Day this year.
• Anthem Group Introduction
o Anthem Group was the event planner chosen by the Intermunicipal Agreement
(IMA) with Concord, Arlington, and Lincoln. They will be getting up to date with
the efforts of the 4 towns and will start integrating into our processes soon.
• JGPR Update
o The Lexington Observer ran a story about the monument showcase and will run
another after the meeting. JGPR hoped that the final selection would get covered
in the Boston Globe.
o Final dignitary invites for April 19th are being worked on; responses are expected
within a week.
o Website feedback was given

• The meeting was adjourned at 5:32 PM
