HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-02-14-LEX250-min Semiquincentennial Comm ission-Lex250 Wednesday, February 14, 2024 Hybrid Meeting Parker Room in Town Office Building and on Zoom Minutes Attendees: In Person: Suzie Barry, Chair; Ashley Rooney, Barry Cunha, Cleve Coats, Noah Michelson, Julie O'Leary, Doug Lucente; Online: Steve Conners, Tom Colatosti, Paul O'Shaughnessy,Jane Hundley, Cerise Jalelian, Jillian Tung Ms. Barry opened the meeting at 4:32 pm Minutes: 1/10/24, 1/24/24 and 2/8/24 were approved. Corrections were made to the 2/8/24 minutes prior to approval. Fundraising: Noah reviewed the fundraising slides with the Commission. We discussed the buckets of funding and the importance of sending an acknowledgement no matter the size of donation. Doug mentioned the importance of working with the Town Celebrations Committee as they raise funds for the afternoon parade to coordinate so we are not double asking donors. April 19, 2024 One Year to Go Event: We discussed what time the event should take place and whether to be inside or outside. John Guilfoil went over how to get the press engaged to come (time of day and also speakers) We reviewed who we would like to participate: Lexington Minutemen Company, British Reenactors, William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum. July 13, 2024 Parkers Prelude Event: Jane reported the Jamaica Plain Honk Band would be $250.The William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum fee is unknown. Action Item:We will form a small group to work on the April 191h One Year to Go Event and also the July 131h Parker's Prelude event. Debrief of 1/30/24 Community Meeting: Meeting was positive and with a good time. A lot of helpful comments were received. All of the notes taken at the meeting have been received and scanned. Doug will send out a raw report to Commission members that will be reviewed at a future meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm by roll call vote. Respectfully submitted, Suzie Barry
