Fourteen classrooms are to be added to Diamond Special education space would be increased to 31 ,000 s f dispersed in general classroom areas Questions were raised about "project rooms" Bruckman, who has offspring attending Diamond, explained that children work in group in three-hour blocks of time and actually build projects in such places Currently 1278 attend middle schools, with the anticipated peak level of 1600 population at that level in the years 2001 and 2002 1 Space utilization in aeneral appears to be related to diversification of program Committee agreed to recommend to school committee that 80 percent utilization of all rooms be urged Committee expressed concern that its advice should reach the whole School Committee through its Chairman and that school and HMFH personnel are also apprized of the committee' s goals for economical space implementation of School Committee policies on school program Adjourned to the ongoing School Committee meeting at 9 15 p m Respectfully submitted, Erna S Greene, Secretary
