Edson, Peter D Johnson, William R. Bruckman, and Daniel L. McCabe, William P Kennedy, and Mary Lou Touart Present from the Library Building Committee were Walter Pierce, and Jay K Lucker Also present were Carol A Mahoney, Director of Cary Memorial Library and Julie Triessl, Project Manager for the Library Walter Pierce announced that 33 architectural firms were represented at the briefing session on May 31, 1995 Of these 15 firms submitted proposals by the deadline of 12 00 Noon on June 21, 1995 Library Building Committee members Walter Pierce, Jay Lucker, and Carol Mahoney reviewed all of the proposals and presented a "short list" of 5 firms that they recommended to invite for an interview These are 1 Galliher, Beier, & Best 2 Amsler Woodhouse MacLean, Architects Inc 3 Stephen Hale & Associates 4 Keyes Associates 5 Anthony Tappe and Associates The committee felt that this is a good pool They all have strong renovation qualities Jay Lucker withdrew himself from the interviewing process because of a conflict of interest having worked with some of these firms It was decided to conduct two interviews on Tuesday, July 11, 1995 beginning at 7 30 P M and three interviews on Wednesday, July 12 , 1995 beginning at 7 00 P M. At the conclusion of the interviews a wrap-up session will be held at which the Permanent Building Committee will make the decision on which architect will be best suited for this project The goal is to have an architect in plade by August 1, 1996 The meeting was adjourned at 8 45 P M Respectfully submitted, 12 ,` Caro /n N Beckwith Executive Secretary Cary Memorial Library
