30 , 1994 and of March 8 , 1995 as amended
Cary Memorial Library Proposed Addition discussed first in relation to
extremely high usage of the building, by both residents and a con-
siderable number of people from out-of-town A project costing about $2
million to construct is foreseen Included would be at least 10 ,000
square feet of additional space that was eliminated from the original
sketch plans when the building was last enlarged 20 years ago Copy of
a letter to the chairman from Walter Pierce, Chairman of the Library
Planning Committee and information sheets on grant application timetable
and pertinent information on Article 15 (now request for $20 ,000 for
schematic studies) for the proposed project were passed out to committee
members Pointed out that library grants from the state arrive much
faster than school reimbursement funds
Library Trustees representative Touart will acknowledge receipt of the
communication and will ask that Walter Pierce be appointed to join her
in representing the library on the forthcoming project In view of the
need to have an architect aboard for the planning by June, work should
begin immediately to advertise so that selection process can be done in
time Prospects for Lexington to receive funding from the state' s
Public Library Construction Program appear quite good

matters relating to by-law compliance
