HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-03-22-PBC-min.pdf TOWN OF LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS PERMANENT BUILDING COMMITTEE Minutes of March 22 1994 in Room 111 , Town Office Building The meeting was called to order by Francis X Fields at 7 45 p m with committee members John Bergeron, Christopher Casey, Ted Edson, John Kennedy, Dan McCabe, Jim Scanlon and Mary Lou Touart Town Buildings Study Chairman Fields passed around his 3-page plus appendix summary of the Archetype Architecture, Inc facility study of town building Principal among the categories of work needed on town buildings were roof and masonry repairs and entrance revisions for ADA compliance Committee members commended this brief report and recommended that the same be done for the schools Committee members McCabe and Touart said that they have not been invited to work with the schools on their facilities study In any case, they thought that the School Committee and Administration have not done all they should to pull together and contribute toward the schools study For this reason Archetype had to do extra work for the schools Even so, Bargmann concluded in his study that the high school and Clarke need further use study with strong schools input Committee noted that the Schools Administration Building is under the jurisdiction of the town, rather than the school department Dispatch Center/Public Safety Renovations and Eauinment Purchase Subbids are due March 31 and general bids are due in the morning of April 7 A committee meeting has been called at 4 p m of that day to discuss the bids Selectmen, Town Manager, public safety chiefs and members of the financial committees have been invited to attend Reasons for the rise in cost since the original committee report on the proposed � project were cited as principally complete rebuilding (required by the State, if any revisions are to be made) of the cell block and cost of the cable connections to the fire department buildings Meeting adjourned at 8 20 p m Respectfully submitted, Erna S Greene, Secretary tli
