PERMANENT BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
PRESENT - Ken Lawrence, Ted Edson, Herb Grossimon, Mary Lou Touart,
Al Daniels. Jim Scanlon, and Mannie Coscia
Discussed request for proposal submitted by school dept. , recognized
and agreed on need to separate two projects under one Article
Interview sessions to be held with possible architect/designer very soon.
Plans and items for Town buildings done by Mannie deemed satisfactory
for addenda to Town request for proposal
Suggested that committee have preliminary meeting with any firms interested
in submitting proposal for schools
Committee must have Article drafted for December 2, 1985 Town Meeting
Much discussion on how much money school dept study should cost - Jim
McInnes suggests $60,000 - $5,000 per building Ted says it should be
$50,000 plus reimbursibles (ED Consultant, etc ), should be a ceiling
of $60,000
Bill Kennedy proposed that we agree on rough RFP draft and not address
design selection procedure until later We will solicit proposals and
decide on selections
Bill will call Jim McInnes to tell him the committee will incorporate
his draft and the committee draft and submit to the school dept for
their comments/approval.
Next committee meeting - Thursday, Oct. 31, 8AM, Room 111, Town Hall
to approve the final RFP
Subcommittee meeting Monday, Oct. 28, 7 30 PM, Room 111, Town Hall to
draft the final RFP
Bill Kennedy asked for sense of the meeting on the contract - Ted
suggested we adopt and modify Bill will call the Town Manager and
Town Counsel on same.
Next meeting Nov 5, 7 30.PM, Room 201, Town Hall 6 ,,,gwMc
