HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-04-16-COA-min.pdf Tau" cf Latta, Minutes of SPECIAL CoA Meeting on Wednesday, April 16, Council on Aging 1980 Box 636 Lexington, Mass 02173 Present Ch W Son, V Ch R Weinstein, Treas J Carlson, J Rooney, S Goodwin, B Luckmann, B Rubin, A Grein Staff J Meicher, Coord CoA E Morehouse, Assist Coordinator, CoA F DiMaria, CETA Absent S Clark L Tropeano Sen introduced the meeting as a problem solving meeting In question was the number of hours which Frank DiMaria works for the CoA Staff statement Melcher told the council that DiMaria was placed in 1 the CoA office by the Town Manager as a facilitator and administrator of the MECAP program (Massachusetts anergy Community Action Program) DiMaria has shated his time between the Lexpress office and the C0A office Assist. to Town Manager Banks called this office on Monday, April 14, 1980 at 9 00 a m to announce that DiMaria would no longer be in this office starting immediately Dimaria reported on now his time is spent in administering the MECAP funds Many of his clients are physically incapable of coming to the office He is an outreach worker, advocate for the needy, and a representative of the CoA The program is still functioning The office averages 6 10 calls per day, weekly visits are made to the SCEOC in Cambridge and also to the oil dealers in the area DiMaria is willing and able to share his time with Lexpress and the CoA but is concerned about working in a third capacity for the Town He would like to remain with MECAP until it is completed The Friends of the CoA are contributing to some of his mileage costs MOTION Resolved that Sen and Rooney of the CoA request the Town Manager discuss the orderly transfer of personnel S i OPOVS MSN/NC Wtte '�'.
