Moved , seconded , and passed unanimously that, following the guidance of Nancy Banks as discussed in the Executive Session of February 13, 1980 Board Meeting, we will ask the CoA Personnel Committee to ask that the position of Coordinator of the Council on Aging be made a full time position with salary oro,arnble to that of the Recreation Director of the Town of Lexington MOTION Moved , seconded , and passed unanimously to continue the Mini- Bus service through the fiscal year MOTION Moved , seconded , and passed unanimously to accept the Treasurer' s report as read Chairman' s Report Sen reported on matters taken up at the Selectman' s informational meeting of Monday, March 10 The Selectmen dis- cussed the issue of the Town spending $35,000 on a pore complete study of the use of Monroe School as a Human Services Building This would put off a decision as to the use of the school for one more year /"= !!! 9 rgic ;r. 1825 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02193 TELEPHONE (Si?) 562-0600 MINUTES OF THE: COUNCIL ON AGING March 12, 1980 ( cont) Sen reported on discussion with Ted Petterson, Minister of Church of Our Redeemer on possibilities for additional space at the Church questions arose as to the barrier free aspects of the space and how the added space could fill the expanding needs of the CoA MOTION. Moved, seconded , and passed unanimously to approach Petterson on possibilities for the CoA to rent contiguous rooms for enlarged space ( i e function room, office, drop-in center, end room, plus the Great Hall ) Action Motion, follow-up Re Congregate Meal Site Weinstein reported that he and Sen had an appointment on Saturday, March 15, 1980, with Janet Clark re the steps needed to secure a Congregate Meal Site in Lexington via Title IIIC Staff report Melcher announced that a Boy Scout Troop will prepare and serve a lunch to the senior citizens on April 24, 1980 The cost will be $1 50 per ticket Weinstein questioned limitation. in numbers for MOW recipients He will check with Scott Plumb re other sources for issuing meals and also for subsidy funds Goodwin reported on the Area Agency Plan as put forth by the DEA in respect to districting of Home Care Agencies Carlson stated his concern for the need for nominating committee to identify a candidate slate of CoA officers for FY81 Decision Ch Sen will appoint a nominating committee immediately Note The next regular meeting of the Board of. the Council on Aging will be on TUESDAY, April 8, 1980 The change is due to the conflict with regular Town Meeting night The meeting was adjourned at 9 50 p m Signed Elise V Morehouse Secretary Pro Tem 1
