The meeting was called to order to 7 35 pm
MOTION Moved , seconded, and passed unanimously to accept the
minutes as read
Staff reports Melcher reported on the Lexington Assistance Fund
Four emergencies have been handled so far Money continues
to come in from various town sources
We ( the CoA Office) have received a check for $500 from
the SCEOC to facilitate our administering the ECAP funds It
has been temporarily deposited in order to secure the check
A statement as to how that money is to be allocated will be
sought from the SCEOC
ACTION. Coordinator will ascertain intent of use of the $500 allocated
to this office from the SCEOC and report to Council on that
matter
Elaine Dratch from MMHCC has asked the CoA to assume
the cost of transportation to the congregate meals site one
day a week Comparative costs are being sought from Mini-Bus,
C & W Transportation, and taxi service The figures will come
from Dratch within a week and Coordinator will report back to
the Council
ACTION. Research funding possibilities for aid to MMHCC for transpor-
tation

Goodwin reported on the Senior Aide Program at MMHCC 'The �e,

Rubin reported from the Personnel Committee The job description for the
Coordinator of the CoA has been rewritten and updated
ACTION. New Coordinator job description will be sent out to all CoA
Council members
MOTION. Moved , seconded , and passed unanimously to accft the recreation
report as included with the minutes
MOTION Moved, seconded , and passed to accept the Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) pertaining to the Senior Citizens Club
recreation/social money
Abstension A Green
New Business Weinstein expressed concern that there is no nutrition
site in Lexington
ACTION MOTION Moved , seconded, and passed unanimously to have Ch Sen
and Vice Ch . Weinstein request information and sustain a non-
binding basis re the possibilities of a nutrition site in
Lexington The information is to be sought both from MMHCC
and the Town of Lexington
MOTION. Moved , seconded , and passed unanimously to endorse the concept
of reestablishing the FACTS luncheons
Friends of the CoA Mary McDonald, Chairman, reported that the immediate
goal of her committee is to educate Town Meeting Members as to
the need for our move to the Monroe School as the hoped-for
Human Services building An architect has been hired by the
town to draw up preliminary plans as to possible use of the
space Any person in Lexington may be a Friend of the CoA
Homemakers Weinstein disucssed the matter of recruiting and training
homemakers The State Rate Setting Commission establishes the
rate for hiring homemakers Weinstein and John Paul Marosy
(MMHCC) will explore methods and procedures for increasing
the supply of homemakers
MMHCC An open hearing of the MMHCC FY81 budget will be held in
St Brigid ' s Church, the Kennedy Building, on January 23, 1980
at 2 30 pm
The next regular meeting of the Council on Aging will be held on February 13,
1980 at 7 30 pm in the offices of the CoA, the Church of Our Redeemer at
6 Meriam Street, Lexington, Mass 02173
